Analyst note
The 722 Coupe is the SLR the market actually wants. Production of 150 against 1,262 base Coupes, combined with genuine mechanical differentiation, has driven a decoupling from the rest of the range. For years the 722 S Roadster carried the higher number, but that has reversed: most Coupes now change hands off market, collector to collector, and a handful of those private results have reset the level well above the visible record. Roadsters have stayed largely with auction houses, online sales and dealer inventory, where pricing is more transparent and moves more slowly. Public comparables for the Coupe are scarce as a result.
